liberals

From cnn.com:

“You can see which way the questions are going,” (Hillary Clinton) firmly told a mostly female audience gathered at Haverford College, a small liberal arts school outside of Philadelphia. “What if the military commanders tell you its dangerous to withdraw? That question is backwards. The president tells the military commanders what the mission is.”

Uh-oh. So no matter what the generals say, she would overrule them? The military officers – the men and women who are on the ground 24/7, who know the situation firsthand, who know the people, who know the struggles, the perils, the dangers, the risks … she would ignore them all?

Those who haven not declared their support for John McCain or Barack Obama, please do so NOW. If Hillary will wantonly do her bidding in Iraq, despite what the military leaders say, what else could she do? Why even have advisers, or a cabinet, for that matter? If she is going to make decisions of this magnitude on her own, then just anoint her as Queen of All She Surveys, and let her do her thing.

A Clinton presidency already put this country behind the 8-ball once, and led to a host of problems it will take decades to fix. Please – let’s not make another disastrous choice by committing to a second Clinton presidency.

Just when folks had written her off, Hillary Clinton wins the New Hampshire primary. I find it curious that it’s being called a ’startling upset.’ After all, she is still the national front-runner, she has higher name recognition, and is the presumptive nominee. I realize that Barack Obama had a big lead in the last pre-primary poll, but to call Hillary’s win an upset is stretching it a bit.

And man, oh man … the media is all over it! Big stories on CNN, the Washington Post and other outlets. Can you hear the sigh of relief in newsrooms across the country? “Thank goodness she won … 10 months of all-Obama would be just too much!”

I’m not a big fan of Hillary Clinton. First of all, I think she is a socialist – remember her “Sometimes we have to sacrifice for the greater good” comment? Secondly, she is a carpetbagging wanna-be who is riding the coattails of her husband. He was the failed governor of a small southern state; she is a failed senator from a large northern state. But if not for him, would she even be in politics? Highly doubtful.

Here’s the questions I would love to ask her (and would love to have answered): On the night you were elected to the Senate, you pretty much pushed your husband out of the way when he tried to congratulate you. Now, you are employing him around the clock as a speaker, fund-raiser, advisor … why?

I really hope Democrats come to their senses and rally behind Barack Obama. I’m not a big fan of his, either, but he is the future of their party. He is young, enthusiastic, energetic, camera-friendly …. what else do you want? Also, regarding Hillary’s claims that she can best bring about change – how can she say that when she has been on the inside longer than anyone else in the race?

One thing is for sure – this will be an entertaining winter and spring.

From a story in this morning’s paper: “The American Psychological Association ruled Sunday that psychologists can no longer be associated with several interrogation techniques that have been used against terrorism detainees at U.S. facilities because the methods are immoral, psychologically damaging and counterproductive in eliciting useful information.” Next to the story is a picture of a man dressed as a prisoner; in the background is a sign stating, “San Jose Says No To Torture.” Well, huzzah for San Jose! I’m sure Al Quaeda members are happy to know that if they are arrested in this country, they will have safe haven in San Jose.

Seriously – are you kidding me? What a load of crap. San Jose doesn’t have any say over who and who isn’t tortured – for that matter, neither does the APA. Let’s leave interrogation and torture to the professionals – and better yet, let’s all act and behave in a way that will prevent us from being arrested, therefore from being interrogated and tortured!

I know that’s a difficult concept for liberals – after all, we should appease everyone every moment of every day. But let’s try to play nice, shall we?

Socialism still sucks. Liberals – for the most part – suck.
